The Glen is a destination resort and all amenities are provided. Visitors are served breakfast and are provided with a delightful boxed lunch. When dinner is ready, the chef will ring the lodge's Old Railway bell to signal the occasion.
The Glen features delicious, home-cooked meals, served family-style. Among dinner choices may be a fresh roasted turkey, sirloin steak or sherried chicken. The menu is varied and all meals are made fresh, on-premises. Please save room for our spectacular desserts.
BOAT DOCKING
The Glen has its own private docking space and boat launch, and we have several 14 and 16 foot boats available for rent to our guests.
HISTORY OF THE GLEN
The Glen was originally a sports camp in the late 19th century, when US Route 3 was still a dirt road. Hunters, birdwatchers, sightseers, nature and wildlife viewers, and fishermen would travel to this lakefront lodge. A private summer home for 50 years, The Glen was converted in the late 1940's by the Wilkinson's into a sportsmen's lodge known as "The Glen Lodge", which it has remained ever since.
The Glen has matured over the years, adding stand-alone cottages, a boathouse, and many supporting outbuildings. The original lodge remains the centerpiece of this 160-acre property, located directly on one of the largest undeveloped lakes in the northeastern United States.
